megan & john’s wedding! beixedon bay resort, southold

Megan and John – I knew I would fall in love with every aspect of this wedding! When I first met Megan we just clicked. We both had the same energy, love for organization, and appreciation to detail. Such a dream Bride! We were both super excited that it would be the first wedding held at her venue so of course we had to kick it off with a bang! After a romantic engagement session at one of my favorite places in Huntington, Coindre Hall, I knew Megan and John would be so much fun to photograph on their wedding day.

When I drove onto the Beixedon Bay Resort property I was in a dream. The tent was already set up, Megan was helping with last minute details and she had all of her personal details all laid out for me upstairs. There are so many elements that Megan tied into her wedding day that I was so impressed – nothing went unnoticed! The jewelry was all custom made by one of her bridesmaids, Maggie of Hinchliffe Jewelry. She brought back rocks from the place in Ireland where John popped the question. When she was on the other side of the pond Megan even picked up some love poems from the Shakespearean store that were just a perfect touch to her detail shots. Oh and her flowers? WOOD! Now all of the bouquets and boutonnieres will last forever (and aren’t they just gorgeous?!) I think one of the most kick ass things were here shoes though – hello black stilettos!

Back to the wedding, after Megan got ready at the venue and John got ready at a condo in Southold (he had a Giants theme if you couldn’t tell)  we head on over to St. Patrick’s church in Southold to have them tie the knot. After saying their vows, exchanging rings, and sealing it with a kiss we head back to Beixedon Bay for all of their portraits. This property is absolutely gorgeous. We may not have the most sun shining day in October, however it was such an incredibly beautiful day filled with the most flattering soft light and lots of love! I loved the ladies mix and match black dresses (perfect for any other occasion as well!) and the groomsmen in grey suits.

Cocktail Hour was actually about two hours of the most delicious food trucks Long Island has to offer. I have never eaten so much at a wedding but boy was it good! There were even lawn games set up for guests to play and blankets to snuggle up with in case you got cold. The reception tent was nothing short of amazing – a live band, a DJ, a packed dance floor, more amazing food (lobster dinner for me? yes please!) and tons of sweet treats. We ended the night by taking Megan and John down to the water for some bonfire photos before saying goodnight. This wedding is for the books – congratulations Meg & John! Cheers!
