I have known Dana for a few years now after photographing her two friends weddings (shout out to Noelle & Jaime and Jen & Chris!). Dana emailed me around the time she was selecting her wedding date to see when I was available – talk about winning me over! When I met with her and Jonathan they spoke about Channing Daughters Winery in Bridgehampton. The couple happens to be wine club members there, and the winery is a place they go quite frequent for a lazy day during the weekend. I knew that would be the perfect place for their engagement session, and gave me the opportunity to explore someplace knew!
I am usually on top of checking the weather to make sure we get the best weather possible for an engagement session. This instance, however, the weather maps lied to me and we were left with an overcast day with plenty of mist. Dana was getting her makeup trial done (doesn’t she look beautiful?!) so we stuck with our original plan and right as we were about to begin the mist stopped! Overcast lighting is essentially a huge soft box so taking portraits is actually a breeze once the rain stops, and that is exactly what we did! We walked around the grounds, explored every possible area, and even took some photos with their adorable pooch! I cannot wait for their wedding next August out in Montauk! Cheers!
