I have known Kristen since Middle School. Photographing childhood friends is such an amazing feeling – I love after all of these years seeing these friends all grown up and living such beautiful lives! Logan is just the nicest guy and incredibly easy to get along with. Kristen always has a radiant smile on her face. This was hands down one of the easiest weddings to photograph (besides having to take a plane to get there!) Some friends and family were joking this was a little “wedding moon) for Craig and I since we got engaged just days before!
Kristen and Logan’s intimate 18 person wedding was held at the Riu Dunamar resort in Cancun, Mexico. Much like Montauk, Cancun holds a special place in my heart. I have been there over a dozen times with my family and returning there always gives me the feels. When I was asked to shoot Kristen and Logan’s wedding I jumped at the opportunity to travel to this paradise again. Having everything all on location with beautiful 80 degree weather and ocean breezes really was a dream. I had been wanting to start shooting destination weddings so this was the perfect opportunity to do just that. Not to mention it was so fun to run around in the sunshine capturing beautiful moments all day! We did a quick first look after gorgeous getting ready in their hotel rooms just so they could shake away those pre-wedding jitters. Not to mention it was a perfect opportunity to take the couple around the resort a little to some picture perfect spots (besides the epic-ness of the waterfront and row of palm trees!)
Kristen and her ladies bouquet’s (and all of the flowers throughout the day for that matter) were out of this world stunning. I had never seen anything like it! They were tropical, vibrant, and of course included a few delicate succulents that were just swoon worthy. They really tied in the tropical / destination feel of the whole day. Not to mention the amazing tablescape for their reception. Kristen and Logan hand painted maracas for their guests as personal favors – how fun!
