beth & mike’s wedding! | the woodmere club

Remember that Nor’Easter we had? Yeah that was Beth and Mike’s wedding day. Did we let that prevent us from taking stunning photos? Absolutely not!

I photographed Beth and Mike’s engagement session right be Mike’s family home Brookhaven on a beautiful April afternoon (if I recall correctly, we woke up to a blizzard and ended with a beautiful sun filled afternoon on the waterfront) All week leading up to Beth and Mike’s wedding day the news was warning of a Nor’Easter landing right on their wedding day. I didn’t stress, just told Beth to bring some clear umbrellas and cute rainbows (which she did!) and we would make the absolute best of it. Beth’s childhood home was the perfect location for her getting ready and photographing all of her beautiful details. Mike got ready at a nearby hotel and met us at the church (after a quick tennis match) to tie the knot. The wind was unbelievable to say the least… I loved the quick shots I was able to get of Beth and Mike running out of the church and into the Rolls Royce (and the belly laughs that followed shortly after thinking about the irony of rain on their wedding day)

When we arrived to the Woodmere Club we got right to work. The venue was extremely accommodating, giving us the largest room full of big windows letting in gorgeous natural light. I would want to shoot in that room even if it wasn’t raining outside! Beth and Mike even braved the outside for some gorgeous photos by the one tree full of orange trees outside the main ballroom. You can’t even tell the weather conditions they were braving, but I am forever grateful they agreed to go outside! Beth and Mike were both on the dance floor nearly their entire reception (my favorite) and were so easy to work with.
