Aleksandra and Jon’s Brecknock Hall wedding in Greenport, New York was everything a North Fork celebration should be: fun, energetic, and oh so sweet! It was such a fitting representation of their love story, which started out when they were both working at an ice cream shop many years ago.
Set on a beautiful summer day in June, the sunshine, colorful florals, and coastal charm of Greenport created the perfect backdrop for a day that reflected exactly who they are. As their Long Island wedding photographer, it was a privilege to document every moment of their special celebration!
One of the first things I noticed about Aleksandra and Jon is how easy they are to be around. When I first met them, it instantly felt like we were old friends that were reuniting after a long time. They bring so much warmth to every room they enter, and that energy carried through every part of their wedding day!
I mentioned that their love story started at an ice cream shop where they were coworkers, but at that time their life took them in different directions. A chance reunion during 2020, a couple of rescued puppies, countless conversations, and years of growing together eventually led them here to their big day at Brecknock Hall!
Getting Ready + Wedding Party Portraits
Both the bride and groom got ready on-site at Brecknock Hall, giving us plenty of time for pre-wedding photos!

Aleksandra looked absolutely stunning in her gown, while her bridesmaids wore soft blue dresses that paired beautifully with the colorful pastel florals in shades of blue, pink, yellow, and purple. Jon and his groomsmen kept things timeless in classic black tuxedos.

Their custom stationery featured an illustrated map of Greenport along with a drawing of their beloved Great Pyrenees, Mabel, riding on a little sailboat. (SO cute!)

Outdoor Brecknock Hall Wedding Ceremony
One of the biggest reasons Aleksandra chose Brecknock Hall was the opportunity to celebrate outdoors beneath a beautiful tent, and Mother Nature delivered! Sunshine poured over the celebration all afternoon, elevating all of the sherbet-toned colors from their floral arrangements. Surrounded by family and friends, Aleksandra and Jon exchanged vows on the front steps of Brecknock Hall with its gorgeous stone architecture behind them.

After the ceremony, we wandered around the property for portraits while guests enjoyed cocktail hour. Even with a full wedding day timeline, Aleksandra and Jon never stopped smiling or laughing together!

Tented Brecknock Hall Wedding Reception
The celebration continued beneath the tent with delicious food nonstop energy on the dance floor! Between floral centerpieces, custom menus, and keepsake matchbook favors, Aleksandra and Jon’s vibrant color palette carried over into their tented reception.

One of the most memorable moments came when Aleksandra shared two separate parent dances: one with her dad and another with her mom. It was such a heartfelt way to honor both parents and made for an especially meaningful part of the evening.
Their high school friends performed their first dance song live, making one of the biggest moments of the day feel even more personal. And throughout the reception, thoughtful details continued to surprise guests, including adorable Fudgie the Whale cakes celebrating the bride and groom.

To wrap up, I want to close this post with a special moment that still makes me smile when I think of it! At one point, an oyster shucker was wandering through cocktail hour carrying fresh oysters (peak Long Island wedding vibes), and Aleksandra insisted he find me so we could all share one together. Immediate yes. We stood there laughing as we slurped oysters together, and for a brief moment I didn’t feel like “just” the photographer — I felt like part of their biggest celebration. Those are the kinds of moments I love most because they’re impossible to plan and completely authentic!
