Peconic Bay Yacht Club Wedding Venue Guide

As a Long Island wedding photographer, I’ve photographed weddings at sooo many incredible venues across the North Fork. But there’s something about a Peconic Bay Yacht Club wedding that feels especially classy and timeless.

Exterior of Peconic Bay Yacht Club

Set right on the Peconic Bay in Southold, this venue combines everything couples love about a waterfront wedding with the refined atmosphere of a private yacht club. Between the marina views and peaceful coastal setting, the entire property feels both elevated and entirely welcoming. If you can’t tell, I just adore this venue — let me tell you why.

What I love about Peconic Bay Yacht Club weddings

There are so many reasons I love photographing weddings here, but the people are a huge part of it. John and Hilary are truly the best! They are organized, thoughtful, and genuinely wonderful to work with, which makes wedding days feel seamless from start to finish. When a venue team knows exactly what they’re doing, couples can actually relax and enjoy the experience without stressing over details.

Of course, the setting itself is equally amazing. Everywhere you turn there’s another beautiful photo opportunity, whether it’s the marina filled with yachts, the waterfront ceremony space, or the soft coastal light that surrounds the property. If you’re looking for a waterfront wedding venue on the North Fork, this is seriously one of the best options you can find.

And I have to mention the bridal suite because it’s easily one of my favorites on Long Island! It has this refined coastal feel that ties perfectly into the yacht club atmosphere while still feeling bright and luxurious. It’s absolutely worth getting ready onsite here (and the pictures are 10/10!).

Peconic Bay Yacht Club wedding ceremony and reception spaces

One of the things that makes this venue feel so special is how each space fully embraces that coastal waterfront vibe many couples are looking for on Long Island. From the ceremony to the reception, the entire day feels connected to the bay!

The Point

The Point is the venue’s outdoor ceremony space, and the views here are just incredible. Couples can exchange vows beneath a white arbor overlooking the Peconic Bay, with the water and open skies creating the most beautiful backdrop. It feels peaceful and romantic without needing much additional décor.

Peconic Bay Yacht Club wedding ceremony

One of my favorite photo moments at the venue actually happens right before the ceremony. The walk from the venue out toward the ceremony space always creates such timeless images, especially with the water surrounding the property!

The Ballroom

The Ballroom overlooks the marina and was designed for a traditional dinner and dancing reception. The space feels polished and elegant while still fitting naturally with the coastal setting outside. Large windows keep the room feeling bright and connected to the water throughout the evening, so you still get that outdoor feel even when the weather isn’t favorable. For larger celebrations, I love how the ballroom still feels intimate, even with 200 of your favorite people in it!

The Gallery & Terrace

Located upstairs, The Gallery & Terrace is one of the standout spaces at Peconic Bay Yacht Club. The ceilings are incredibly high, the room feels open and airy, and the doors leading out to the terrace overlook the bay. It’s such a beautiful setting for cocktail hour and gives guests that immediate wow moment when they walk upstairs.

The terrace itself is stunning at sunset and perfectly captures that relaxed North Fork waterfront atmosphere. It’s 100% worth stealing a moment to step outside for some sunset portraits.

Peconic Bay Yacht Club wedding cost: Budget expectations

Peconic Bay Yacht Club is definitely considered one of the higher-end wedding venues on the North Fork, but for couples looking for a refined waterfront wedding experience, it’s worth the investment.

There really isn’t another venue quite like this on the North Fork unless you head further east toward the Hamptons or Montauk. Between the one-wedding-at-a-time experience, private marina, incredible food, and seamless service, every celebration I’ve captured here has felt elevated from beginning to end.

Insider tips for planning a Peconic Bay Yacht Club wedding

If you’re getting married here, my biggest advice is to fully embrace the venue and stay onsite as much as possible throughout the day. The bridal suite is beautiful, the grounds are stunning, and the entire property photographs well from morning through sunset. Plus, you don’t have to worry about Long Island traffic getting in the way of your wedding day timeline!

I’d also highly recommend building time into the timeline for waterfront portraits around golden hour. The light over the Peconic Bay in the evening is unreal, especially during summer and early fall weddings.

Getting to Peconic Bay Yacht Club

Peconic Bay Yacht Club is located in Southold on Long Island’s North Fork, right along the Peconic Bay waterfront.

For guests traveling from New York City, Long Island, or New Jersey, the easiest route is typically taking the Long Island Expressway (I-495) east to Exit 73 before continuing toward the North Fork via County Road 58 and Route 25. Guests coming from Connecticut can also take the Cross Sound Ferry from New London to Orient Point before driving west toward Southold.

Since North Fork traffic can get heavy during peak wedding season, especially on summer and fall weekends, I always recommend allowing extra travel time and booking nearby accommodations for guests whenever possible.
