Guys – new standard. Everyone must have a family farm, haha! Fun fact – I met Stephanie and Bobby the day before their engagement session (talk about efficiency!) Bobby is a cousin of one of my couples and I had been emailing the couple about their engagement session vision. Bobby’s family owns Andrews Family Farm in Wading River and the greenhouses were full of all the colors you could ever imagine for Mothers Day. The couple knew they wanted to shoot this week to capture all the greenhouse goodness before the busy weekend and fortunately enough I was available! The couple were also looking for their wedding photographer so it all worked out! As you can imagine all of the rain lately has been cramping my style. Where is the sun and golden hour?! Fortunately for us the sun did make an appearance during this session and it was one of the only days this week it didn’t rain! It was meant to be! While it was a windy afternoon the greenhouses provided warmth and the most beautiful light I could have asked for. As someone who is obsessed with color I couldn’t get over the colors I was seeing in the greenhouses. It is as if Spring is finally here! I felt like a kid in a candy store – completely overwhelmed by all of the options before me. Stephanie and Bobby probably thought I was crazy! After a quick outfit change we head out into the field of course to take some photos with the tractors and last bit of golden hour light. Bobby’s Mom was telling me in September the farm has a whole sunflower field (as if the farm couldn’t get any cooler) so I made sure to note to come back in the Fall! Stephanie and Bobby have spent many days at the farm so having their engagement session there made them feel right at home. I am so happy to have discovered this secret gem on Long Island and to have been able to shoot on such short notice! I cannot wait for their wedding next year at Ocean Bleu! Cheers!
