Kim and Alec are one of those couples you want to be friends with. Urban shoots are not my strongest (you know me – I love an empty forest!) and they had me falling in love with Dumbo, Brooklyn during their engagement session. Anytime I met up with Kim or chatted with her on the phone leading up to her wedding she had me laughing – seriously we just clicked.
The morning of Kim and Alec’s wedding day was windy to say the least but I was just thrilled the sun was out (it had been a few days and we were all slowly slipping into that cold weather depression – lol) The sun was shining through the gorgeous fall foliage and I just knew we had to take full advantage of it during their portraits. Everything for the wedding was on location at the Temple of Lawrence, a beautiful Jewish Center right in Lawrence, Long Island. What I loved about it was the dark wood interior, beautiful stained glass, and grounds to work with the couple and bridal party. Right after Alec saw Kim for the first time we caught the most beautiful golden light that we took full advantage of – Kim and Alec were laughing and having the best time with myself and White Tie Video. We had plenty of time for portraits so did not only a set outside but also a full set of portraits inside to really get the most out of a beautiful location. After the ketubah signing we head right into the temple for the jewish ceremony. After one of the biggest cocktail hours I have ever seen the couple danced their way into the reception and I am pretty certain they never left the dance floor. I have to say couples like this are my absolute favorite, I know Kim and Alec fully enjoyed their wedding day and I am so happy to have been a part of it!
