Yesterday’s torrential downpours were no joke. Originally Shannon and Joseph were arriving to their reception venue dressed and ready for portraits. Fortunately the rain worked in my favor so I could photograph the dress hanging in the beautiful bridal suite before Shannon put it on. Shannon and Joseph have already been married for a year so this was their way to celebrate with family and friends. Shannon and Joseph are your typical “marrying my best friend” couple. Joseph went dress shopping with Shannon and even helped her get into her dress at their wedding. How precious?!
Fun fact : I knew Shannon (and her mother Eleanor) from years ago. Our mom’s used to work together. We were those two redhead girls that used to play together at company events.
The bridal suite at the Coral House was beautiful – nice window light, clean, and those light grey walls were perfect for some family portraits and portraits of the bride and groom.
Keeping an eye on the weather, we head on outside to take some photos by the lake. I couldn’t help myself to take a few under the umbrella, too.
I absolutely love how Shannon’s hair pops against all of the greens. These ones are my favorite from our little outdoor set. SO incredibly dreamy.
Then came time to party! There were heartfelt toasts made by both Joseph and Shannon’s dads along with Joseph’s lifelong friend, and lots of dancing on the dance floor. It wouldn’t be complete without the traditional father / daughter and mother / son dance as well.
It’s been a while since I have seen a groom shove cake into the brides face, but boy was it funny! Shortly after Shannon got her revenge, shoving it right back into Joseph’s face.
Congratulations Shannon and Joseph!
