michael & carmine’s engagement session! | woolworth estate, glen cove

What a week of engagement sessions. I have been running all over the place with my couples, discovering new areas, and it has been amazing. Oh, and the weather has been so sunny and warm! I am one happy girl! This session was one for the books. Michael and Carmine and I had been going back and forth about their engagement session since they booked me. We originally were heading towards a rustic fall look, but the fall came and went and their wedding is this November! They then decided on a Gatsby theme and the Gold Coast in the summer just worked out perfectly.

The Woolworth Estate is located right in Glen Cove, Long Island. The estate is quite impressive spanning 16 acres and including numerous marble structures. The design for the estate was made in 1916 which fits perfectly in the era we were aiming for.

All I kept thinking during their session was how someone used to live here! I also kept thinking about the Great Gatsby bachelor lifestyle hosting lavish parties. In the back we even noticed those huge spotlights so we know it must have been a grand location for such events.

Michael and Carmine were such troopers braving the heat in their suits. They also were great with tolerating my excitement. I wanted to walk around the property and shoot everywhere!!!

The couple was so incredibly easy to work with. They both had me belly laughing. Michael and I went to high school together so it is always nice to see a familiar face as well.

The private property is used mainly for TV Shows and Movies (can you blame them?!) Sometimes its nice to have friends that have a connection or two. Michael and Carmine also completely played into the theme looking dapper in their suits and giving me the occasional RBF. I loved it!

Seriously the estate was breathtaking. We didn’t have access to the upstairs but the grounds and the first floor were more than plenty to work with.

Michael and Carmine were also incredibly easy to photograph. They posed naturally, didn’t need much direction, and look how handsome they look. I was living a dream!

Guys I can’t thank you enough for showing me this secret gem. This engagement session is one for the books! See you in a few months for your wedding – cheers!
