marissa & themi’s engagement session! | peconic river herb farm

Another spectacular engagement session at Peconic River Herb Farm – and NO RAIN! While we didn’t think we would get any golden hour (the weather called for dark skies and potential showers) halfway through the session the sun came out with the most delicious light!

The first time I met Marissa and Themi was at their engagement session. I had been chatting with Marissa back and forth about their wedding and she leapt at the idea of doing an engagement session as soon as possible. You would think I would get bored shooting here – but I find something new every time I go! Either its a new niche, a new way I see the light, or maybe just some new inspiration from the couple! We used every nook and cranny of the check out area – a place I usually never use! SO cute!I loved that everything was still in bloom. I asked Marissa and Themi how they found me  and they found me through Instagram! I guess all of those hashtags have been working! I couldn’t help but use this beautiful succulent for the ring shot. It was just calling my name! I also loved how the tropical greenhouse was perfectly decorated! Marissa and Themi “met” at Hofstra – but realized they actually grew up in the same town. Funny how things work out! Ugh I just loved them! I love how they could just be themselves in front of me. Hello third wheeling! Themi is clearly a romantic – after planning a weekend full of surprises for Marissa’s birthday. After exploring Brooklyn all day he popped the question right after dessert at the River Cafe under the Brooklyn Bridge! I love that glass greenhouse. I could shoot an entire session using just that! When the sun finally decided to stay out I was like a kid in a candy store – trying to do as much as I could before it decided to tuck away again! I loved Marissa’s dress! Super playful! Fortunately we lucked out and it decided to stay – yesssss! So dreamy. I can’t with these shots – it really worked out so beautifully! Just attack her, trust me! All of the lens flare and golden hour vibes. One of my favorites spots on the property! That. Light. Though. Marissa and Themi brought a second outfit for the latter part of the session. They seemed much more relaxed and comfortable in these shots – I was obsessed! More fun in the greenhouse and down by the pond! Stealing kisses in the garden… After their amazing shoot Marissa and Themi booked me as their wedding photographer – woohoo! See you guys next year at Flowerfields! Cheers!
