lisa & rob’s engagement session! | fire island lighthouse

What a gorgeous evening we had for Lisa and Rob’s engagement session last night. I have never photographed an engagement session at the Fire Island Lighthouse / Robert Moses Beach before so this was a treat for me to shoot somewhere new. We hiked all the way out to the furthest point we would go to start, the lighthouse. We chatted along the way about their final wedding plans and how their March wedding is sneaking up on us! Oh – and how happy we are that we didn’t have rain or humidity for their engagement session!Lisa and Rob looked perfect in their summer attire. I couldn’t believe the variety of spots there were to shoot! From the bay side (shown below) to the endless boardwalks, and of course the Atlantic side. I am a lover of toes in the sand! We had an abundance of golden light as we wandered the paths, spotting a few deer along the way. I saw some clouds rolling in so I took full advantage of that warm light any chance I could (I don’t think they minded) So precious! I couldn’t pass up this wood siding! We started to make our way back down the paths to (eventually) get to the beach. I may have made them stop more than once – but I couldn’t help myself! They just molded together perfectly. Some beach grass provided great texture for the ring shot. Right on the dirt road? Yes please. That soft light and tall grass and reeds were just calling to me. This moody sky though. I loved how secluded these images feel (even though the park was full of photographers and guests!)And they were worried about being natural in front of the camera – naturals. Just a few of my favorites. It was so hard to pick just one! I couldn’t get enough nuzzling shots – so damn cute!We finally made it to the ocean! It was SO worth the wait! Congratulations Lisa and Rob! See you in March for your wedding!
