Gab & Mike’s Engagement Session! Faraway Farm Alpacas

Where to begin?! I have known Gab pretty much my entire life. Knowing her down to earth personality, love of nature, and of course love of animals I knew that Faraway Farm Alpacas in Yorktown Heights would be the perfect location for her and Mike’s engagement session (it didn’t hurt that I was dying to shoot there, either). It also happened to be Gab’s birthday and the first time I was meeting Mike!

Alpacas are the models I never knew we NEEDED at an engagement session. These alpacas were extremely friendly, cute, and curious to what was going on. This session was full of laughter, cuddling  and silly alpaca faces. Leda one of the owners of the farm was telling us the alpacas were the furriest right as we were photographing since they have not been sheared yet. Needless to say we took the opportunity to farm up our cold fingers with the alpacas fur and the super sweet Icelandic horses manes. Despite it going back to feeling like a cold winter afternoon the farm itself was absolutely beautiful. The Hudson Valley area is always so beautiful, no matter what time of year, and I was especially fond over the old root cellar by the house. There is something charming about old stonewalls and structures that make you think of being someplace in Europe.

I am absolutely ecstatic to share some of my favorite moments from Gab and Mike’s engagement session and I cannot wait for their much warmer August barn wedding at Greywacke Meadows! Cheers!
