dana & jonathan’s wedding! | gurney’s montauk yacht club

I first met Dana at Noelle & Jaime’s wedding back in 2014, she was one of Noelle’s bridesmaids. Since that first wedding I photographed Jen’s wedding (another bridesmaid and best friend) in 2015 and Noelle and Jaime’s adorable son’s newborn session. When Dana got engaged to Jonathan she knew she wanted to use me after seeing me work with her best friends all of these years.

Dana and Jonathan are the total Hamptons couple. They are wine club members at Channing Daughters Winery in Bridgehampton (where we photographed their engagement session with their adorable dog Callie). Leading up to their wedding I asked them if they had a theme, color scheme, etc – I wasn’t surprised when the theme was a Hamptons Wedding. Gurney’s Montauk Yacht Club was the perfect venue for such an occasion. Blue is probably one of my favorite colors used in summer weddings. The ladies wore blue gowns and Jonathan wore a navy tux while the groomsmen wore grey suits. I incorporated that blue as much as I could while shooting all of Dana’s pretty details. Isn’t she a beauty?! Seriously this girl doesn’t take a bad picture! Simple florals by Roses and Rice. Dana’s dress fit her absolutely perfectly. I loved the lace top and the bottom that just swayed as she walked. And not to mention those baby blues! I loved her updo as well. Simple and elegant. Maid (even though she should be Matron) of Honor Jen helping with last minute details. All dolled up and ready to head to the church!Probably my favorite silhouette shot to date. Dana also has the perfect silhouette for this shot. Leading up to the wedding day I was keeping a (low key) eye on the weather – not mentioning to Dana that it was supposed to rain all day. I just kept thinking that it called for rain during their engagement session and we lucked out so their wedding day will be the same, right? Not wanting to risk getting their hair messed up too soon by the wind we did the majority of the photos inside during Dana’s prep. The inside of the Montauk Yacht Club is just as lovely as the outside. Onto Jonathan’s prep – his accessories of course matched the whole nautical theme as well. Before getting dressed the guys were hanging out in their suite, drinking some Channing Daughters (of course) and playing cards. The name of the game was Love Letters – how fitting! What a good looking groom Jonathan is! I kept telling Dana to think about how good he probably looks – it got some real smiles out of her. Mom and Dad helping Jonathan with the details. Fun fact – both Dana and Jonathan are only children, like me! What a dapper gentleman! Jonathan and his groomsmen used the yacht club grounds for some portraits before heading out to the church. Time to tie the knot! The church was only a short 5 minute drive from the venue and beautiful inside. The new Mr. & Mrs. Gubitosa! After the lovely church ceremony we head on back to the yacht club for portraits. The blushing bride! Dana and Jonathan are so incredibly photogenic – and the Montauk Yacht Club isn’t a bad background either. Right when I took the couple out for some portraits of the two of them alone a giant cloud blocked the sun creating some gorgeous soft light for us. I really could not have asked for a better day to photograph their wedding. This may be my favorite photo of the day!Exploring every cute nook and cranny we could find! Her dress swaying = magic! The green beach grass was just perfect to use for that pop of color and texture in photographs. I loved it! We took the bridal party out on the docks for some fun photos before heading into cocktail hour. I could have photographed them for hours – luckily for them I had to head inside to take some reception details. What a gorgeous reception space! I loved the hanging lights, the table “numbers” were actually different beaches in the Hamptons with some fun facts about the couple! Time to party! These two were on the dancefloor all night. I loved seeing them have the best time on their wedding night! Sweet parent dances. Heartfelt toasts from the Maid of Honor, Best Man, and Bride’s father. Aren’t they the sweetest?! I loved the fireplace behind them giving off that warm glow. Congratulations Dana & Jonathan! I have loved getting to know you all these years and look forward to seeing you at the next wedding or adventure in the future! Cheers!
